Comuna de Peñalolén
Description
A tour to the municipality of Peñalolén, which is situated in the foothills of
Santiago. There we have various options: We can visit the "Parque por la Paz" (Park of peace)
and the former Villa Grimaldi, which stands under monumental protection. It's an historical site,
which during the Pinochet dictatorship, served as a centre for torture. Another possibility is
to visit the Parque José Arrieta, National Monument and domicile of the University SEK,
which has beautiful gardens and springs. In the house of Mario Irarrazaval, a regional sculptor,
you can see a exhibition of his artworks. You can also make a trip to the Quebrada de Macul, and
go horse riding or visit the winery of Cousiño Macul.
